Whenever Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham does his best bit of brown nosing for Trump, he quickly backpedals after realizing that he surrendered any bit of dignity still lurking within. The most noteworthy Graham moment was the comments he made about Trump’s golf game after golfing with Trump on a Trump-branded course last year. Graham described the president as the consummate gentleman and golfer. Golf.com later questioned Graham’s reported score of 73 for Trump.
Graham recently appeared on CNN to discuss his controversial response to reports of Trump’s “sh*thole countries” remark. Sen. Graham called reports “basically accurate” following the now-infamous meeting.
During his CNN interview, Graham said of Trump, “You could be dark as charcoal and lily white, it doesn’t matter as long as you’re nice to him.”
Sen. Graham continued, “You could be the pope and criticize him, it doesn’t matter, he’ll go after the pope. You could be [Russian President Vladimir] Putin and say nice things, and he’ll like you.”
When asked to sum up the president’s first year in office, Graham answered, “Here’s what I found: He’s a street fighter. It’s not the color of your skin that matters, it’s not the content of your character. It’s whether or not you show him respect and like him.”
A street fighter?
