Mueller knew that there was someone in Trump’s family operating in the shadows; he just had to ‘crack one egg,’ so to speak. What happens now, as the collusion investigation between President Trump and Russia will now be implicating his family, too.
It has been reported by Bloomberg News, that Jared Kushner is the “very senior member” of Trump’s infamous transition team that intentionally sought out Michael Flynn to reach out to Russian officials regarding a United Nations resolution.
Just Friday, former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn pled guilty to knowingly making “false, fictitious and fraudulent statements,” with respect to the investigation into Russian collusion.
Bloomberg also reported that Flynn was ordered by two former Trump officials to make contact with ambassadors from other countries, including Russia, in order to put a stop to a United Nations Security Council vote that would condemn Israeli settlement activity.
Flynn was indeed, working at the Trump Administration’s behest when he implored ambassadors and foreign ministers to vote against the resolution or at least delay it; and it was Jared Kushner who instructed Flynn to contact Russian officials.
The resolution ultimately passed, despite then-Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak’s assurance from the Kremlin. Put forth during the final days of the Obama administration, the United States abstained from vetoing the resolution after all.
Trump has had his influence on the thumbscrew for far too long – this testimony from Flynn has allowed Mueller and his investigative team to pull back the curtain, just a little bit, and see who is lurking in the shadows.
