On Wednesday, billionaire Democratic donor Tom Steyer indirectly launched yet another attack against President Trump, by announcing that he would be donating $3.5 million in separate investments in both California and Florida to encourage young voters to turn out at this year’s upcoming midterm elections. The two states are main focuses of his organization’s push to register and engage young voters.
Steyer’s organization, NextGen America, is focusing their $30 million campaign on registering and engaging young voters across the nation in an effort to overturn congressional seats currently held by Republicans.
Steyer said in a statement, referencing the recent school shooting in Florida and the students who have been speaking out against gun violence: “Young Floridians want leaders who tell the truth, not deny science and risk public health. They want leaders who will safeguard their schools and protect their friends at a night club.”
“The road to taking back the House runs straight through California, and to the Republicans who have failed to represent us, NextGen Rising has a message: young people won’t put up with that,” Steyer added.
Steyer also recently ran an advertising campaign to impeach Trump, sinking millions of dollars into advertisements and billboards, and collecting millions of signatures on a petition
